As the European qualifying groups get underway for the 2018 World Cup Finals, we bring to you the early odds. These will obviously fluctuate as teams qualify but if you're confident now, get a bet on and take the odds at what will most likely be the best prices.
No surprise that World Champions, Germany are favourites at 9/2, or that last time's runners-up, Argentina (going well in South American qualifying) are second favourites at 11/2.
It then gets a little more interesting. Euro runners-up, France are 8/1 along with Brazil - both teams who promise so much but often find that final hurdle a little too high. Spain are just a little longer at 17/2.
Clearly the bookies think that the teams mentioned above are the ones with the best shout of lifting the trophy and it's hard to disagree but two years is a long time. The odds on the next group of teams are much longer - Belgium and Italy at 16/1, Columbia, England and Holland at 20/1.
Can Big Sam lead England to World Cup glory? If you're going to have a punt on England (lots of us do) when the finals start, why not do it now while the odds are more tempting? History tells us that a few quid each way would have more chance than a win bet!
European Champions, Portugal are out at 30/1 and Wales are 80/1. Can you see these as potential each way bets?
Hosts Russia are 25/1. Assuming all is fair, they will realistically have less chance than Portugal and Wales. If you go along with conspiracy theories, get some money on the Russians now!
For the romantics out there, the Republic of Ireland are 250/1, while Northern Ireland and Scotland are both 500/1.
